Four Paws Legacy Cat Rescue is committed to placing cats into loving, lifelong homes once our sanctuary is fully built and operational. Our adoption program will focus on thoughtful matching, responsible placements, and ensuring every cat transitions into a safe, stable environment.

At this time, we are not adopting out cats yet — but this page explains how our future adoption process will work once the sanctuary is ready.

Our Adoption Philosophy

We believe every cat deserves a home where they are understood, cherished, and protected. Our cage‑free sanctuary environment helps cats develop confidence, social skills, and emotional stability, preparing them for successful transitions into forever homes.

Future Adoption Process

1. Intake & Evaluation

Each cat will be assessed for:

• Health

• Temperament

• Socialization

• Special needs

• Ideal home type

This ensures every placement is thoughtful and safe.

2. Meet & Greet Appointments

Potential adopters will be able to schedule visits to meet cats inside our cabins or outdoor fenced areas. This allows families to interact with cats in a calm, natural environment.

3. Application Review

Adopters will complete an application covering:

• Home environment

• Experience with pets

• Lifestyle

• Expectations

• Ability to provide long‑term care

We will review each application carefully to ensure the best match.

4. Adoption Approval

Approved adopters will receive:

• A personalized introduction to their chosen cat

• Medical records

• Behavior notes

• Transition guidance

• A small starter kit (food, toys, or comfort items)

5. Follow‑Up Support

We will offer ongoing support to help adopters with:

• Adjustment tips

• Behavior questions

• Medical guidance

• Long‑term care resources

Our goal is lifelong success for both the cat and the adopter.

Adoption Fees (Future)

Once our sanctuary is fully built and our adoption program begins, Four Paws Legacy Cat Rescue will require an adoption fee for each cat. This fee helps cover:

• Veterinary exams

• Vaccinations

• Spay/neuter

• Parasite treatment

• Daily care and enrichment

• Food and supplies

Adoption fees also help ensure that cats are placed into committed, responsible homes.

Our future adoption fee will be announced once the sanctuary is fully operational, allowing us to set a fair amount based on actual veterinary and care costs at that time.

Special‑Needs & Lifetime Care Cats

Some cats may remain permanent sanctuary residents due to medical or behavioral needs. These cats will not be adopted out but will receive lifelong care, love, and enrichment at Four Paws Legacy.

When Will Adoptions Begin?

Adoptions will begin after the sanctuary is fully built and running, once cabins, fencing, and care systems are complete. Updates will be posted on our website and social media as we get closer to opening day.
